DocsAgainstDonorDisparities has made a strong effort to advocate for organ donors and recipients by interviewing living donors and recipients about their stories.
We have connected with inspiring individuals such as Trish Phillips, a living organ donor who has made it her mission to spread awareness about organ donation through her non-profit organization, podcast, and upcoming Amazon Prime series. Through her, we learned about the personal and emotional journey of organ donation and the impact it can have on a person's life.
Additionally, DocsAgainstDonorDisparities has partnered with organizations such as DonateLifeNC and Dr. Pam Smith, the minority outreach head, to expand their reach and advocacy efforts. With Dr. Smith, we have been able to gain knowledge on events such as HBCU Step Shows, Gospel Fests, and DonateLife's annual gala in April, all of these allowed us to educate and raise awareness within diverse communities. We are committed to amplifying the voices of organ donors and recipients, and sharing their stories with a wider audience to educate and inspire others to become organ donors.
